Website access
When you visit this site, the Swiss hosting provider automatically processes technical access data, which may include your IP address, date and time, requested resource, referrer when transmitted, and browser or device information. This is done to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site.
If you email me, I process your email address, message, attachments and related metadata to receive, secure, handle and answer your message. Email is provided by Fastmail Pty Ltd in Australia. According to Fastmail, data may be processed in Australia, the United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, India and Austria. For transfers to countries without adequate data protection, Fastmail's published data protection agreement provides for the EU Standard Contractual Clauses; their use for transfers governed by Swiss law requires the adaptations specified by the Swiss data-protection authority.

Optional website analytics
Only with your permission, self-hosted Umami measures page visits and clicks on email and project links. The analytics service is operated by Yourox AG on Infomaniak infrastructure in Switzerland. It receives the public page path, referring website, browser language, screen size and the type of click. Your IP address and browser information are processed to deliver requests and distinguish visits; the analytics database does not store your IP address. Query strings, URL fragments, email contents and form values are excluded. There is no advertising, session recording or cross-site visitor profile.
Analytics is off until you choose “Allow analytics”. Your choice is stored locally in this browser for 180 days, without an analytics cookie. Use “Analytics settings” at the bottom of any page to change it or turn analytics off. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track requests take priority. Withdrawal stops future collection; it does not remove earlier anonymous statistics. Analytics records in the active system are retained for up to 24 months and removed by a daily cleanup. Encrypted recovery copies expire within 42 days. Authorized analysis may use aggregate reports with an AI service; the underlying database remains private.
This site does not use advertising trackers, contact forms or third-party embeds. Essential technical access logs are separate from optional analytics.
